MSDE Approved Learning
Chesapeake College Child Care Exchange offers Core of Knowledge (COK) and Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) that are approved through Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
Training is provided in child development, curriculum, community, special needs, professionalism, and health safety and nutrition to help child care providers meet start up and continuing training needs for license renewal.
The 45-hour certificate classes such as Child Care I: Growth & Development; Child Care II: Activities for Young Children; School Age Child Care; Infant Development and Care and Child Care Administration, are offered on site at Chesapeake College and Online through a seat share agreement with Howard Community College. Courses are available in the evenings and on Saturdays throughout the year.
